The $325 million of health and safety improvements funded by Measure 26-193 includes funding for over $10,000,000 of accessibility and ADA improvements to schools across the district. For this reason, Community Vision Inc, an advocacy organization working to ensure that "one day everyone with a developmental or intellectual disability will have the opportunity to thrive in their own home, working a job they find meaningful, and surrounded by people who love and respect them," has joined the hundreds of community advocates who have endorsed a YES vote on Measure 26-193 for the Portlanders for Safe and Healthy Schools campaign.
“Community Vision is excited to announce our endorsement of Measure 26-193 and our support of the Portlanders for Safe and Healthy Schools campaign. We’re eager to support investment in our public schools that provide meaningful accessibility investments alongside crucial renovations and remediations to ensure every Portlander has access to a safe and healthy school. We encourage Portlanders in PPS’ district to vote YES this May for Portland’s future.”
We'll be highlighting an endorsement every day on our blog from now until the election on May 16; follow us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to help us share the word about this important election, and please consider volunteering to help us talk to our neighbors about the importance of voting for safe and healthy schools this May.
